As sponsors of this year’s San Diego Entrepreneur Day, Hiscox was excited to meet hundreds of small business owners and entrepreneurs. One of the business owners we met was Sarah Lynch, founder of Beta Wolf Marketing. Sarah talked about her business in the video above. Sarah has worked in the marketing industry for over a decade, focusing on cultivating relationships, building brands and staying up-to-date on industry trends. Her passion involves connecting those who support like causes. In 2012, Sarah decided to launch Beta Wolf Marketing. Beta Wolf is the first marketing firm on the west coast to specialize in causes and its mission is to connect for-profits with nonprofits to generate social awareness for different causes. According to Sarah, Beta Wolves are described as those who assume pack leadership by proven loyalty, strategic prowess and intelligence. The meaning behind Beta Wolf is that there will always be someone next in line to lead the pack. In a world filled with an abundance of Alpha's jockeying for attention, Beta Wolf’s are focused on the bigger picture: “The purpose of the organization as a whole.” As the first place winner of our San Diego Entrepreneur Day contest, Sarah attended Ontrapalooza 2013, pegged as the ultimate event for business rock stars. Sarah commented that the conference, “was everything a female entrepreneur and small business owner needed to know.” Sarah’s takeaways from Ontrapalooza include:
- Be honest. Surface your failures early on when they’re small, so you can avoid a train wreck later.
- In the next three years, over three billion people will come online, currently only 25% of the global population are online. Business owners should be prepared for this infusion.
- The winning entrepreneurs will create companies that will create extraordinary experiences for their clients.
The new Beta Wolf Marketing website is set to launch in November. Visit www.betawolfmarketing.com now to subscribe to company updates. For more insight from San Diego Entrepreneur Day, visit the Hiscox YouTube channel for more videos from small business owners.
